Methodological approach to the calculation of machine work cost in civil engineering

Abstract

In introduction, it is claimed that the choice of machinery, and the mechanical work planning, are of high significance when defining approach to construction work. A methodological approach for calculating the hourly rate of earth-moving machines in construction industry is described. The methodology is especially well suited for analysis of mechanical work in the construction of water management facilities. The calculation is related to earth works. The results obtained in the use of this methodology have been statistically analysed and compared with the results based on the existing methodologies.
